Its another Summer time here in Jamaica, the climate is hot and the girls are sexy. There are many things happening even after event. There are pool parties, stage shows even beauty pageants lol. He has his controversial Port more Empire and is one of the most if not the most popular, but controversial entertainers in Jamaica and the Dance hall community.

The Law vs OutLaw

This article is directed towards the individuals that are on both sides: the law and the outlaw. At one end we are in a system filled with crime and poverty due to an economic crisis that doesn’t exist only locally but on a global plane. Jamaica our nation is considered a third world country (developing nation), we have a bad reputation for corruption within our political system (both parties) etc. But I guess you have heard all those stories already so that’s another article. What we consider the law is not being applied at a constitutional level; our people (citizens of Jamaica) are abused of our human rights and are being exploited every day.

At one end we uphold the law but the law is not on our side. For Instance I have a friend that was recently thrown into jail over some unpaid tickets that he had not paid for in three years, a warrant was out for his arrest, he was locked up in a local police station, he was treated like a wanted criminal and had to share a cell with twenty men (some of whom were criminals), no food or access to a restroom, only a bucket to let out his waste.

We was later taken to court and ordered to pay over sixty thousand dollars or face more jail time.

His rights was exploited, he was abused by the law, the same law that he is supposed to uphold. And that would be considered light compared to what goes on every day in this war torn system. Here is a list of the seeds of corruption in this cesspool of a Nation:

1) Police Brutality

2) White Collar Crime

3) Wire Tapping

4) Raids

5) Harassment of Citizens

6) Overbilling of Citizens

7) High Consumer Prices

8) High Interest Rates

9) Poor Road Facilities (in most areas)

10) Unorganized transportation parks

11) Threats

12) Intimidation

13) The selling out of our Nation’s resources

14) High unemployment (very high)

And the list goes on. And this is on the law side. Both parties are going to point fingers at the other as usual but no one would come together to solve this pandemic of a situation that has reached this nation.

The outlaw, the robin hood of so-called society, heroes of the poor are not really helping the situation. These organized gangs’ gives youth’s access to illegal weapons that can take a man’s life in a heartbeat. They are corrupting the souls of our children; they have planted a nasty seed that only strengthens their operations but weaken the citizens. How ironic some of these gangs have political alliances hence forth the term “garrison”. A territorial system that was designed by a political party to secure various seats when an election is called. These so called territories were to have so-called area leaders aka dons that would rule with an iron fist and defend its people like a tribal system. These people are armed and dangerous but what is the law really doing about it? Yes, I agree things are being done, but they are not being done in an efficient way without causing collateral damage. I agree these dons are eventually killed or put in prison, a lot of wanted criminals are going to jail, but do you think that solves the problem? No it doesn’t. It worsens the problem, the way the law goes about to apprehend the outlaw is more lawless than the outlaw themselves. So the question is: “Is there now a thin line between the law and the outlaw” I guess they can now alternate roles if desired. Plain clothes police can act lawlessly because they are the “law” and the outlaw can pretend to be the law in order to do lawlessness or they just work together while they kill one another and oh yes, COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Another grieving mother, another fatherless or motherless child. And the story goes on.

So the question is JAMAICA what can be done to reduce this madness and restore some sense of stability to our Nation. How can we rid this nation of this stinking rotten demonic force that is plaguing our nation like locust on a farmland? Are we going to sit blindly and keep taking the abuse or are we going to apply more pressure on these corrupt forces and demand answers.

For all my non-citizen readers, I am very passionate about my country and what I believe in my people, and my energies are directed into these articles which hope to reach out to the world and also to our leaders and powerful private sector. Help Jamaica before it ROTS IN HELL. Help Jamaica before WE SELF DESTRUCT. Help our youth, give them opportunity, give them a sense of community, give them the ability to earn and to grow, help the ghetto, help the ones out there in the vast wasteland that need your support. Uplift Jamaica and you will never regret it. We are talented and gifted with many abilities, we only need some support. So the story goes on, the Law and the Outlaw has our nation at ransom, no at GUN POINT BULLET!

Reality vs Memory

What is the difference between a memory and reality? A photograph is a memory that is visually captured, digitally reproduced and spawned by digital imaging applications.

Memories are survived through culture, art, science, expression, therefore as we age, our memories live on, our memories are immortal such as long as there is a human race and technology.

Therefore to solve the equation: A photograph does not have a meaning unless a memory is attached to it. Do not let the {sentinels} frighten you, or let you feel inferior. Free your mind from mental slavery as this reality is a mental projection of slavery.

The key to success is total mental acceptance of one's self.

Human

I write this article with great passion, knowing that i can reach to you, knowing that someone will read this content. I write this article saying i am human, strip away my race, my culture, my personality and all you have is a human that is communicating with you via this medium, this interface, this system of great communication.

What is the intention of my message? This message is intended to tell you whoever you are that man is in danger, danger of himself, we are in a world that is driven by greed, power and lust. We are driven by commercialization stripping away our very essence of what we call humanity. We hear their cries every day (the starving children, the sick, the elderly, the homeless), yet we ignore them, we find celebrity news more fascinating, we rather sit in the VIP lounge and party our lives away, but after the party then what? After the party exists reality, the same reality that we ignore.

i may sound like i am angry, but i am not, i am only venting what i call my disgust for mankind's negligence to be humane, to have compassion, to co-operate, to share and finally to love one another.

If you have reached this point in this article i hope i jogged your mind, i hope i inspired you to write an article of your own, this is the The World, This is Life, and yes This is Technology.

Power Part II

We have the power to change things in our environment. Our thoughts fuel our actions, which is in turn creates the impact intended.

Knowledge is also the power, and is the base for all thought, therefore by extending your knowledge you are extending your thoughts.

Powerful is knowledge ignited by thought. These thoughts lead to action. Action is the end product of our thoughts and also the beginning of another .

My Dream for all Jamaicans

Message to my fellow Jamaicans,

As you know, we are living in a harsh economic time, where yes there are opportunities and things happenings in the background, but like Martin Luther King of the civil rights era i have a dream.

I see all my Jamaican brothers and sisters living without fear, i dream that one day all Jamaicans can have a smile on their face, that all Jamaicans can look at their Television sets and see the news and its all good news, that one day prices for goods and services will get low, that one day banks will be begging you to borrow money, that one day we will have green energy (no more jps) and energy efficient vehicles.

One day there will be no more garrison politics or tribal politics, one day both political parties can come together and forget about their differences and work for the people (the nation) and not for their party or constituency.

One day there will be roads with no pot holes, one day we can produce our own, import less, export more, support our local market, one day there will be trust for the law enforcement entity, one day there will be less gays and lesbians within society, one day our kids don't curse bad words on the streets and have sex with one another on the buses, that one day every Jamaican can own a peace of real estate and maintain their utility bills, one day there will be less foreigners running businesses in our nation that the natives, that one day there will be better hospitals and medical centers, no long waiting and friendly and efficient medical professionals serving you with the highest quality, that one day there will be no more long waits to leave or enter the airport, that one day every Jamaican business will advertise their websites with confidence, one day registering business and paying taxes is like saying abc.

One day We as Jamaican in Jamaica and Jamaicans abroad can go back and forth the world wihtout being stereo typed or banned or feared or jeared. That one day rascism and clasism among our selves will end.

One day all high school leavers will make it to university, that we will be the envy of other nations, we will build great architectures of buildings, science and technology, we will compete at the first world level, our dollar will be of great value and can be used any where in the world.

I have a dream that little Jamaica will be little yes but tolla wah.

Gully vs Gaza

The Gully vs Gaza era is stimulating to dance hall but also damaging to the Jamaican society. Music is the heartbeat of Jamaican culture, Music shapes, unites and divides our people. Our artists benefit from the feuds as they create more music, get more shows and produce more dub-plates etc. But there are factions (within the society) that use this feud to exploit the society with violence or other deviant activities.

The ones most affected are the young people between the ages 12-24, they see these artistes as icons / role models / saviours that preach a message of freedom of expression; whether sexual, violence or otherwise.

The media is also responsible for the feuds as they broadcast acts of violence sometimes spreading propaganda. Its somewhat hypocritical in the way they (the media operate), they use the Gully vs Gaza feud to reap sales from their mediums whether advertising or otherwise yet they are quick to paint a negative picture and point fingers at the artistes and their managers.

The authorities also use this situation to exploit their disgust for the artistes and their promotional entities by undertaking raids, increasing their presence at various events and blocking events scheduled for various locations.

In the end, its no more than a Fad, that will soon fade out, as the year 2010 approaches there will be new rivals, new conflicts that will overshadow this one. There are more serious issues that need to be addressed within our society than pointing fingers at our musicians who in respect are doing their "hustling".

Our economy needs a boost, we need more employment, more education, more opportunities, small business capitol, price reductions, tax cuts, more security, less white collar crime and corruption, less media propaganda etc. Our nation need to step out of the "Crab in the Barrell" mentality, think innovation, think progressive, plan ways to steer us out of economic disaster.

Our leaders need to be positive role models that the youth can have confidence in, they need to do less procrastinating and do more planning. Our national parties need more unity and co-operation. Our private sector needs more unity and need to give back to its communities.

My opinion will not shape the society, as there are countless articles written, with more intellect added and more readers viewing, this article is just a personal expression of my perspective of Gully vs Gaza. It doesn't affect me, its only music and i choose to listen both sides as they have both done well (lyrically) this year.

Achievement

What is achievement?

It is a state of mental satisfaction, where an individual(s) has set a personal goal for his/herself (themselves) and has accomplished that goal.

Why is achievement important?

1) It is important because it creates an identity for the individual.
2) It commands respect from the individual's surrounding community.
3) It builds confidence and self appreciation.
4) It creates a solid platform for others to follow or to emulate.

Types of Achievement:

1) Educational
2) Financial
3) Health
4) Spiritual
5) Emotional
6) Professional
7) Social
8) Misc - other categories not mentioned

Note: i am emphasizing on personal achievement and not group or collective achievement.

The individual can make multiple achievements at random or in sequential order. Some goals are achieved while others are not, but what is most important is the overall output. At the end of the day, the individual will ask "Am i happy with who i am and whom i have become?" if the answer is yes then the individual has made achievements that they are satisfied with.

Note: This is not the same as receiving a public award or winning prizes or scholarships, or setting a trend, or changing the world and its functions, those are public achievements seen in the eyes of the populace. However public achievements also connect to personal achievements, they are both shared by the individual(s).

The point of this article is to make you aware that its OK to set goals, its OK to fight for what you want, its OK to feel self satisfaction for who you are and whom you have become. Regardless of how long it takes, or the sacrifices that you have made, in the end all that matters is the OUTPUT. You will say: "I am happy with who i am, and i am happy with who i have become".

The Comfort Zone

There are many Wikis that define the Comfort Zone. But i have to give you my perception on it. I would define it as a place or mental state where one is comfortable with a particular environment but not really fully satisfied with it, its a cousin of the lackadaisic or lazy, its stubborn and also forgetful.

Its a Zone that should be avoided but at the same time embraced, let me explain:

There is a saying in my culture "Too much of one thing is good for nothing". Too much comfort can spur laziness or lack of production, reversing a productive mind set as well as lifestyle, it can also spur a lack of appreciation therefore explaining the terms "forgetful".

Examples of these are:

1) An Overpaid Salary
2) Someone handling all your bills
3) Being Dependent on others for your responsibilities
4) Having someone to always take you out of trouble when it finds you
5) Having someone to speak out for you
6) Having Someone to shop for you
7) Having Someone to do laundry for you all the time

You get it? A lifestyle such as this can be destructive to the one in this Zone. But there is a twist to all of this. A little comfort mentioned in the above can also be healthy as most people would prefer to have Too much comfort than too little.

Its good to be well paid, its good to have people in your corner to show you love and support especially in times of need. But when you are not in the C-Zone, you are on the edge, more self reliant, more productive; because you will face the consequences of not being productive, you are fearless because you have to fight your own battles. You are less forgetful and more GRATEFUL!

The Banning of Daggering Music and Gun Lyrics

I have been reading the news and listening to the radio, and have realized that they have banned Daggering Music and Gun Lyrics. First of all What are they:

Daggering Music

An Up tempo Dance hall Genre that is a spin off from Soca, its messages are usually sexual in nature with 90% hardcore Lyrics.

Gun Lyrics
This is considered to be a Sub-Genre of Dance hall that glorifies violence and the killing of another person that is considered a nemesis. It praises the Gangster's paradise and glorifies the use of the Gun to gain money, power and respect.

The Jamaican Society has been suffering from an alarming rate of crime, from Murder, Extortion, Rape, Robberies etc. There are private organizations that believe it is the exploitation of these types of music that has spawned this upsurge in crime, therefore the Broadcast Commission of Jamaica has chosen to ban this type of music as well as others that have to be edited for their lyrical content.

In my opinion i would like to share the pros and the cons of such an action:

Pros:

1) It reduces the exposure of the music and video content to the general public, especially children under the age of 18.

2) Diverting the masses into listening to alternative lyrics and watching alternate videos that are more peaceful, spiritual and less sexual.

3) It restores order to an out control society that is considered Godly and ruled by the church and law abiding citizens.

4) It sends a message to the musicians(Djs, Sing Jays, Singers and Producers) to be more creative and diverse and not stick to one track way of expression.

5) It sends a message to the individuals that exploit these music and live its lifestyle to try to finds alternate ways of making money and living.

Cons:

1) It Does not stop crime in Jamaica.

2) It Does not make the economy better, it only hurts the economy because there is a market practically being destroyed.

3) Less Ad revenue for Radio and Television Stations.

4) Less Listeners and Viewers, people will more seek the Internet, such as Internet Radio and Internet TV for viewing of such content.

5) A cultural breakdown can occur, too much foreign content can override local content.

6) People become more frustrated and bitter towards the Government amids harsh economic times.

These are just my views as to the result of these action, i believe a commission should of been formed to oversea this issue, also communicate with the entertainers, promoters and producers on the issue before making such a bold move. Have a national opinion poll etc.

We need to Buy Jamaican and Build Jamaica as much as possible, bauxite is failing, sugar has failed, tourism is decreased due to US recession and Global economic meltdown. There needs to be a force of Marketing, Buying and Selling that can help to boost our economic situation. With the people being unhappy then that will only lead to less economic activity.

On the overall result, in the long run it cleans up society and puts back fear and respect for the law into the minds of the populace, it restores order amids the chaos.

Its just a battle Won by the broadcast commission, but they just started a never ending war.

So by mentally projecting what you want you can manifest this to reality.

But there is a catch, you can't be a dreamer, basically getting up everyday and wanting, you have to move towards what you want, armed with the ammunition of FAITH and GRATITUDE.

He says God will help you if you move towards the help that you want, God will open doors for you, never be afraid of disappointment, when one window is closed, two doors are opened. Patience is virtue.

Israel vs Hammas

Israel is a big bully with American support, Hammas is a pain in the ass that keeps pissing them off, Israel invades Gaza, all the world sits back and watch them kill Innocent lives. Both parties know that the world is watching, they have issues in that side of the world and somehow the west just takes on the karma. Our economy slows down to the core, when USA sneezes we in Jamaica catch the flu.

So in effect this war is global, we may not be staring down the barrel of a war tanker but we are staring at massive economic meltdown.

Crime in Jamaica

There has recently been alot of talks reguarding crime in Jamaica. Countless lives has been taken on both sides (The public and private sector). But this is all but a scratch record constantly playing itself out.

So i am going to give you the solution to solving crime in Jamaica:

1) Most crimes are Gang related; the solution is the demoralize the gangs that rule communities, their strengths come from high factions within society, granting them access to weapons, drugs and cash to sponsor their malicious activities.

2) Create a more intelligent police force, in other words eliminate the whole brute force tough cop attitude, that will not solve the problem it will only make enemies . Recruit and filter better service men/women to serve the communities.

3) Improve the communication of police officers, using an Information System, centralize this data and make it accessible to authorized officers.

4) Increase video surveillance at certain crime hot spots. Technology: Hidden Public Cameras. This will assist law enforcement in understanding the crime pattern of their suspects and also identify them.

5) Provide a nationwide security campaign for all small businesses (very expensive operation).

6) Provide better witness protection.

7) Treat each criminal as a person not as a statistic; meaning gather as much personal information as possible, study and analyze that/those persons and their activities.

8) Provide counselling centres for young boys between the ages of 13-24, seeing that most crimes are committed by individuals within these demographics.

9) Provide more security in schools, conduct regular searches and background activity checks. Seeing that school boys are a target for gang recruitment.

10) Provide more employment for the youth, incentives that can create a better standard of living than having to embrace crime as their way out.

11) Create less media hype, as this popularizes their (the criminals) actions and further amplify their activities for fame.

12) Reduce extortion schemes, this helps to fund these criminal factions.

13) Provide a better prison system, and more human rights within that system. In Jamaica its deplorable and its makes a man worst when he comes out of prison than when he goes into prison.

14) Provide harsher penalties.

These are only a few suggestions in tackling crime, but you must understand, crime has deeply embedded itself into the minds of Jamaicans, its in our music, its in our culture. Its going to take more than the steps above to eliminate crime in Jamaica.

The Government needs to plan a better long term strategy that will steer the nation in a new direction, away from poverty and crime.

These are some serious times

A Nation in Crisis

I am back, yes i have resurfaced with new opinions and also information for my readers on the world wide web.

This Nation that i refer to is Jamaica. Areas of Crisis:

- Economy
- Safety and Security
- Health
- Education
- Social
- Political
- Mass Media Propaganda
- Other (data not categorized)

N.b There has not been any data or research gathered on my part, most of this information is opinionated.

Economy

N.b I am not an economist, but am studying economics to a certain level.

Our Economy is in Crisis, we import more than we export, why? Because it is too expensive to produce locally, therefore our output (GDP) has lessoned resulting in a weaker dollar and a high level of inflation. Because of this our people have less spending power and their wants are greater than what is readily available.

Our consumers are suffering at the wrath of high taxes (i am included), basic food items prices are spiraling, goods and other services prices are also spiraling.

Safety and Security

Due to a weak economy there is less production on the local market resulting in lack of job opportunity or weakened salaries, also due to a weak National Security infrastructure, there has been an increase in crime and violence. Human rights is very abusive on the part of our law enforcement, which is the result of lack of training, screening (of persons entering law enforcement) or Central intelligence and Communication. Our Youth have other ambitions and have sought refuge in gangs. These gangs are like a brother/sister hood that provide them with faster access to money and other resources, but at a price.

They partake in illegal activities such as; killings, robberies, extortion, drugs and other forms of deviant activities, resulting in a "Gangster Paradise".

Our citizens often fall pray to this type of organized crime, our communities are at ransom, our women are in danger and often fall pray to vicious rapists and abusers (n.b. carnal abuse is another issue). Our Children are becoming fatherless (young men not taking enough responsibility) etc.

I am not only blaming the "Gangster Paradise" effect for our safety, i also blame our politicians for not living up to their civic duty for protecting its citizens. Not only do i blame politicians but i also blame our citizens for not being united on this issue, but this could also be the result of fear for their lives and lack of trust of the law enforcement entities, or merely negligence (read my article on the consequences of negligence).

Health

Not much data has been gathered on my part, but i have to address the health issue. There are not enough medical facilities, treatment and insurance for our citizens. Hospitals are often run down and overcrowded, resulting in long waits and usually inaccurate diagnosis. There is also lack of medical professionals (doctors, nurses etc) that meet to the high demand of patients.
There are not enough drugs (or they are too expensive) that meet the demand of our citizens. There is not enough insurance or health coverage for the working class (one has to find large sums of money on their own to deal with sickness).

I must however commend our government for improving the health sector by providing free services to our citizens, but once again every benefit has an opportunity cost.

Education

Our citizens have limited education, most drop out at high school and do not continue on from that point, this results in an unskilled populace. Their lack of education is the result of our teaching style and the social breakdown within those institutions especially the high schools. This Social breakdown has resulted in lack of discipline, increase in violence among students, more teenage pregnancies, neglectful educators etc. There are also limited opportunity for the poor or working class to enter tertiary education (due to its high cost and limited availability of jobs), resulting in a lack of interest to upgrade themselves (citizens).

I must however commend our government for improving the education sector by providing free education to our children.

Social

Jamaicans have lost courtesy and even plain "good manners". How we socialize have greatly affected communication with ourselves and the rest of the modern world. We (Jamaicans) are seen as trouble / noise makers and also aggressive. This breakdown in social behaviour is stemming from the home and surrounding communities, and is adapted at an early age. We are impatient, intolerant and most of all illiterate (not everyone). We have created communication barriers which lead to misinterpretation and a massive growth in stereotyping.

Political

There is lack of unity within our Political sector, They (the politicians) are constantly playing the blame game (pointing fingers at each other) and not thinking as one unit to address the needs of its citizens, there is also a high level of corruption resulting in our Nation's resources being squandered or displaced. With this type of situation happening at the top, one can just imagine the stigma that takes root when its trickles to the bottom.

Mass Media Propaganda

Mass Media (Radio, Television, Press) seems to be riding the negative wave affecting our Nation, they pray on this information to boost profits and ratings, they are quick to broadcast who get murdered, which company in in debt etc. Resulting in changing our Nation's perception of our Country. They help to shape the negativity of our nation by dwindling hopes and also shattering dreams. This is not a media bash, because we (internet broadcasters) are not helping the situation. Some internet broadcasters paint a negative picture on our Nation resulting in lack of visitors and even investors to our country.

There are many other issues to be addressed resulting in our Nation being in crisis. There have been thousands of articles written on this topic, thousands of discussions and also opinions.

The Solution: More unity in all sectors public and private, i call for better communication, less crime and violence, less media propaganda, more international support ( foreign investors and Jamaicans living abroad), less violent music (we know it sells, but perform a civic duty), more respect for ourselves and last but not least MORE GOD and GODLINESS.

Its amazing how life happens to you, while making other plans. These things can cause people to shift their focus and turn into a totally new personality. I have been away from this long for well over a year and have now decided to post something new.

I would just like to wish my audience a Merry Christmas and a happy new year, when it comes and goes. It is a time of giving and sharing, it is a time to remember those less fortunate than our selves and most of all it is a time to remember the birth of "Jesus Christ".

Most people in Jamaican society see Christmas as a time of struggle, a time to feel depressed because they can't afford the latest outfit or can't spend money the way they want, that is because they are fixed on vanity and has lost the true understanding of Christmas. But i also blame it on the culture, most business owners tend to reduce their purchases of services during the holidays and focus primarily on physical products, so service based businesses become hard hit this time of year.

Vendors and store owners make good money this time of year, because its their last chance to clear all of their piling inventory gathered throughout the year, and end their financial cycle with success, however this is not the case for all vendors.

Christmas is just a time that signals to society that the world needs more love and unity, the world needs more peace and prosperity, but in these modern times the world is far from it. There is a huge cultural divide between Christians and Muslins, race and class, and many other types of divisions that weaken unity amongst our fellowmen within society.

So whether you are rich or poor, Christian or non-Christian, black or white, enjoy the holidays and all that it has to offer.

A sexual relationship can be defined as: an emotional attachment that is bound by a stimulating interaction of both parties. Both parties (a man and a woman) form a union based off this agreement.

Women want Pleasure, Commitment, Control and Security. A woman’s passion yearns for the strength of a man; it comforts her when she can be embraced with love and care during sex. She wants to feel at her peek until she bursts her bubble (Climax), giving her total satisfaction.

A woman is very protective of her territory, she demands love and respect, but most of all commitment. Her partner must not have any one but her, she should not feel insecure or threatened by a third party, or else there will be problems in the relationship. Commitment is a truce that binds the relationship giving a woman reassurance that she can trust her partner.

A woman wants control of her man, she wants to be possessive of her property, her man must obey her, he must be loyal, and he must the submissive (both in and out of the bedroom). She wants her man to always be head over heals in love with her; she demands patience, attention and dedication from him.

Last but not least, a woman needs security; she has long term goals for the relationship; family, career and a home. She needs not only a lover, but a friend, a partner and a role model. A woman needs protection from an uncertain environment.

Women are fascinating creatures, though I am very attracted to them, I am rather confused by them; they have very high expectations from us, which sometimes can be deemed as unfair. They thirst for material gain and literally sacrifice anything in their paths just to get it. They let us feel inferior. They think that we want to use them so they are always on the defensive.

Not all women are like what I described, but I think women really want a control of the relationship.

Bearing the Burden part II

It seems as if life gets ever so challenging, on one hand we have a set of clients that demand their products be delivered and at the other end you are forced to produce a high quality at a high stake with little benifit. How do i survive in a world that forces you to always take on new projects just to survive? Each project becomes more challenging yet each project and client expectations escalate?

Sacrifice is the only option, quality for productivity, a lower quality product at a higher delivery time. For Gods sake i am only human, i feel things too. Unfortunatley in this world of being a webdeveloper how do you choose a normal way of life, when you are busy building other peoples' way of life, when will the time come when i can sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labour?

Young Boys Turned Beggers?

Everyday within my everyday journey, there is always someone surprisingly younger than i am coming to me with the same old stories, of them being shot or needing a bus fare to go from point A to B. What is wrong with these Young Boys, it seems as if they have turned Beggers.

I would preffer to be mugged or robbed, at least it shows ambition and it also give me the motive to kick some *** .

Bearing the Burden

Why do I have to bear other peoples’ burdens? Why to I take on other peoples’ responsibilities? Who is going to take mine? What have i done to receive the end of the stick? What if I can’t function? Then what will happen to the people that Burden me, yet it’s the people that burden me will lead me to my malfunction.

Escaping this trap will take time and a lot of thought processing, enough is enough, I must take a stance for myself and fight the odds, I have not made any major mistakes that have put me in a hole that I cannot dig myself out of. Therefore raw intelligence must act fast for my complete redemption.

Confusing little girls

I understand the desires of young girls, the glamour, the glitter, being the most popular and wanting to be seen by everyone. But when you find a set of girls being given a little opportunity to wear prettier clothes than the average, to dine with a little bit more privileged, you have a set of “confused little girls”, they have no awareness that all people are made equal, and that it is very important how they communicate and to whom they communicate.

It is via these trapped mentalities that cause them to make the same old mistakes, going for all that glamour and not being humble and taking the opportunities one step at a time. Sooner or later they do discover that the glamour and glitter was all an illusion and all their surroundings were designed to fulfill the fetishes of their sponsors. Sooner or later the harsher reality chips in when they realize that they are no longer the “little girls” but hard working struggling mothers that have to deal with raising a child /children and managing a household.

It is essential that our young daughters of society are taught awareness, it is essential that they are properly educated and guided not by their so-called sponsors but by their parents or people that really care for their developments.

I embrace logic, i embrace the father of logic George Boole, and his founding of Boolean Logic, True/False , Yes/No.

For the none familiar this is how it works:

A AND B result is TRUE only if both A and B properties are true. Eg. I will only buy a shoe if it has Red "AND" White. Otherwise i would not buy that shoe not even if it were green and white.

A OR B result is true if either property (A or B) is true. Eg. I will buy a shoe if it is Red or White or Both.

A NOT B, basically A is NOT B and B is NOT A. example a man is NOT a woman.

The mentally insane

What drives a person insane? I mean to a point where they are no longer conscious of their own thoughts or actions?

What is being done to help these people? Here in Jamaica where i live it seems as if the mentally insane is left abandoned, the only refuge seems to be the streets and they are forced to live like animals.

Yes they are sometimes fed, by religious or non-profit organizations, but they are not being housed or being treated for their illness. They walk around the streets as a social disgrace, sometimes naked, and dirty.

There should be some type of counsiling or rehablitation centre as well as institution to help the mentally insane in Jamaica, our society lacks support for them and therefore embarasses our country in the eyes of our visitors.

Mothers

Mothers are very important. The female entity is one to be cherished not only for their beauty, but also for their ability to produce life. Women are a gift from God and therefore must be respected and nutured. Alot of males out there don't give them enough credit for all the sacrifice that they have done for us.

They sent us to school, they cleaned us up when we couldn't clean ourselves, they made sure we had money when we didn't . So there are alot of things that moms have done that we just casually take forgranted.

Humility and Faith

Humility is a very important thing in a world such as this one. There are times in our lives when we are faced with challenges, there are always forces of opposition at work that try to deter ones focus.

These are mere test of our faith and how much we really believe in the almighty. The words that i speak are logical and i know that you feel me, i know that you can relate to every word that i say. I think one should take time to appreciate the journey that they have taken in life so far, and always hope and pray for a better and brighter future.

One can have mixed emotions at times, and these emotions can affect all parts of our social existence, as well as personal, but one thing that i have learnt; the ultimate solution is Humility. Take time to analyse why you feel these mixed emotions and help to find your way out of the mental trap of confusion that you have created.

Find a higher level of meditation and a higher level to exist and take your thoughts and emotions to new ground, higher than its current state. This type of mediation along with faith can uplift the soul.

An Idea

"The power of an Idea can build an empire. " It is an idea that gave birth to mans' exploration of the moon, an idea that gave birth to what we call civilization.

An idea is the formation of a; movement, entity or object. What motivates the birth of an idea is desire, a longing for a certain type of achievement or self attained goal. This desire is fueled with passion and hence forth forces one to think. The power of thought takes flight, calculating and ironing out the pros and cons, trial and error, experimentation, until voila! An idea is born. It is usually shared with a collective, sometimes accepted and most often times rejected.

But really good ideas even though rejected still surfaces amongst the collective, until it is adopted. This adoption leads to a movement and that movement grows until it becomes apart of the entities that have adopted it.

Therefore ideas should not be taken forgranted, they should be nutured and stored in a safe place, they should also be kept secret.

Power

The saying is true "With great power comes great responsibility". I have been trying to analyse this thought for a while and have come to a conclusion, that it is really true, power is an ability to control an entity within its ecosystem, with that ability the very nature of the system is reliant on the individual's judgement, vision, intelligence, and compassion.

I realize now that power should be carefully managed and also appreciated, or else it can lead to the destruction of the system that you have dominion over.

Power mush not controll you, you must controll it. Power must not be ruled by greed, but humilty. Power must not be hidden but be shared amongst equal collectives. Power must be nutured, and fed with positive attitudes.

Everyone of us Humans have some degree of power with our society, therefore it is essential to understand its principles and how to grow this power for the benefits of others.

Regrets

I really regret not being given the chance to fully exploit my abilities, a limited market and a limited economy, why blame myself right? I blame myself for not pushing harder, i blame myself for not trying harder, i blame myself for alot of things. But most of all i regret being in this economy.

I only have one aim at this point and that is survival. I only have one purpose and that is to stay focused on my career path. JWM Studios is but a shadow now of what is to come, but also an idea, that has been for a while. Ideas are not made, they are bread.

How do i fight this world and all its negatives? How do i find myself out of my own mental torture? How do i find a peace of mind when my world is in kaos? Most of all how do i find myself?

I deeply regret, doing all that i am doing sometimes, but honestly what else would i be doing? What other purpose would i really serve?

Pain fused with Passion

Why have you done this? What have you done? Why have to come into my life and then disapear? Its hard to deal with Pain, honestly i think pain is passion that went bad. Why do i feel both, obviously you haven't heard my motto "Beauty is my passion, Pain is my platform".

I miss you, yet i don't, i love you, yet i hate you. My mind is on a roller coaster, i cannot define my emotions. All i can really say is that i am lost, and puring my whole entire thoughts on the world wide web, like people really care how feel. People are selfish, people are only caught up with their own affairs.

I guess its that selfishness makes the foundations of what we call an economy. Got that inspiration from a famous Economics professor.

My passion takes me back to maypen clarendon, as a boy i always hung out with myself and had imaginary friends, i never really fit in, honestly i didn't. I have never really felt totally accepted amongst my peers.

My passion takes me to present day, and what i am currently doin't.

My passion takes me to the future, what weird wired destiny awaits? I hope to slow down and burn out, or maybe i need to speed up and go faster. It it really true when they say the race is not for the swift?

I design because its an ability that is given to only a few people in this world and only a few people know how to fully harness its power to really deliver the emotional message that was intended.

lets have a toast to life, as we do our daily duties, i have to ask myself "Why are we alive?" and then i give my self a simple answer "Because we are not dead" ha ha. My reflections

I have many memories that keep poping in my head from time to time. It seemed like a dream, to be able to be on the internet expressing myself like this. It was just the other day that i was bugging my mom to buy me a computer, hey but look at me 10 years later.

I remember the days of no cable, no cell phones, no mp3, and no dvd. An era of just cassettes and sterio. How my world was so limited, but yet innocent. Having dreams of what i now call reality is only one of the many unusual stages of my life. Its just an emotional burst of anxiety when i am now exposed to this new era in technology, yet i am still hungry for more. Somehow i do not believe i am quite there as yet, i have so many goals that i would like to achieve.

The objective is really to stay focused on my career path, its what i have chosen, so its only logical to stick to this route. I wonder how far i will reach? Can i really turn the power of my ideas into a powerful corporation? Bill gates did it with Microsoft, he had the vision and went for his dreams.

Look at him now; the richest man in the world, Taking private trips to small islands, opening offices globally etc.

Love and Respect

Hey Ya'll its me JWM, i know you have been anxiously waiting for me to post another one. I guess you can call me your digital philosipher, although some might deem me crazy, ha ha. I just want to say that i found something, yes indeed i did. I have been searching for it all this time but have finally found it.

Its two things actually:

1) Love
2) Respect

Love

Love for God, love for life, love for myself and most of all love for my studio. Thats right love all this time has been distorted in the form of lust and obsession, but now i am beyond that barrier. I have decovered that art of self appreciation. Expression is my passion, i breathe every breath of air for it, i struggle every day between form and function. What is relative to my existence? Both of them, it seems as if when i try to get relaxed with one, the other gets jealous and tries to break the comfort zone. Some if my readers must be wondering what the hell i am talking about.
Respect

Respect for democracy, i love its policies. I respect the ability to earn my own money, to have a product, market it, develop it, compete with others. I respect the foundations of religion, every religion. I respect law and order, i respect protocols and standards, i respect rules and procedures. Note respect does not mean i love it, nor does it mean i hate it.

I understand now, that in this life we are given two choices; One, you can sit and wait for people to give you things, and you can hope for better times, or Two just take what you want. I think i will take what i want (note: i was not refering to stealing). Go for anything that your dreams command, take the bull by the horn, sacrifice and break the comfort zones.

Thanks to all my fans, some say i am lazy, some say i am crazy, but i admit, i am a bit lazy and yes a bit crazy, well not really ha ha.

Design is an essential part of creation, the ability to shape and mold an idea is not only an art but also a science. The imagination plays a very important role in shaping a design; your mind must be clear and focused. Your thoughts must be undistracted from other illusions that may hinder the design process.

It is essential to do some type of research before taking on a design project, whether; architectural, 3d, graphics, fashion, photography, video, programming, physics, electronics, chemical or anything industrial. It is essential to do your research, find out the pros and cons of implementing a particular design, look at other designs (professional) and do a comparison, match whether you can create a similar or even better concept.

Know how to create your design, by doing this you need to understand how to use your tools. Whatever applications that is accessible in creating a particular design, you need to have a thorough understanding of it. This can be in the form of books, tutorials, communities etc. "Practice makes Permanent" as my IT instructor always says. Nothing beats practice, and once you have perfected using the tools, it is easier to implement your design.

Last but not least, understand your subject, do a background study on its history, and its current function within its ecosystem. Understand its impact on its surrounding environment; always compare the environment so that your design does not become a hazard to the environment in which you will be placing your end product.

A Real Model

Personal views on a real model: Models are beautiful whether by race, class or age. Modeling is an art form that challenges the laws of physics; to create an illusion of purity just by the mare vision.

Why are we all drawn to beauty? Maybe subconsciously we want to be the most beautiful being, or maybe we want to be apart of that beauty, for some it’s a medium of tapping into their sexuality, for others its mare perversion.

So what is a “Real Model”? And how does one apply this art form to commerce and become successful?

What are companies looking for? What makes you stand out from the rest?

Simple; Presentation. Image is everything, and the ultimate model is someone that thrives off pure image, someone that breaks the rules and melts the eyes of the artist behind that camera, someone that brings tears to the eyes of an audience via their presence, someone that can sell a unique concept or product via a pose or walk.

So ask yourself again, are you a model? Are you really a model? Can you really reach the audience? Do you have what it takes to be unique, create that appeal and sell that concept?

That is a “Real Model”

The 21st Century Model

Modeling as you know is an Art form the expression of ones self, portrayed through many abstracts and mediums. Where is this Art form going? What is in stored for the 21^st Century Model?

The 21^st Century has herald many new marketing niches with the fall of the ecommerce web hype and the birth of a new marketing concept; Personalization. Times have changed; no longer do companies make peoples’ image, people makes a companies’ image, from Fashion to Music Companies study human behavior. As a 21^st Century model one has to adapt to this concept of Personalization as the Industries are now in a recreational era. In other words the rules have changed, the Industries are merging(Music Artist and Fashion lines, Model turns actress etc.), and the large divide is ending. Traditionally Runway and Catalog models were the driving force of the Industry, until the spawn of a new pop culture exposing beautiful women to new markets; Urban Fashion, Music Videos, Independent Films, Calendars, Magazines, Ezines, Websites, Import, etc. and many more not mentioned. There are more people using technology in there every day lives at a growth rate of 20% per day of the worlds population. So were does that lead the 21^st century model? Technology and Independence.

Here are some tools to be equipped with as a 21^st Century Model:

1) Computer Literacy (the higher the better)

2) A College Degree (Kill the stereo types)

3) A fair understanding of Marketing

4) A Fair understanding of how the Industry works, all the major categories; Fashion, Exotic, Erotic, R-rated, Semi Adult, Adult.

5) A multimedia driven website (yourname.com- hot graphics, audio, video, animation, interaction etc.)

6) An Agent, to handle your business; referrals, promotion, auditing etc.

7) A fairly decent wardrobe (image sells).

8) Transportation and Accommodation in Geographically convenient spots where the market is hot (LA, NY, LONDON, MILAN, PARIS etc.)

9) Client list, of potential leads and associates for any potential project.

10) Physical appearance is key, working out, eating right, meditation (Yoga recommended).

11) Be very flexible in your skills, incorporate a little choreography, acting and singing abilities (optional), in other words, the more flexible and talented you are, the better.

12) Highly treated skin, facial, pedicure, manicure, hairstyle done regularly.

13) Attend network meetings, fashion events, cocktail parties, or any other formal events, mingle, mingle, mingle; Plastic smiles etc.

14) Work with a good photographer/s or Photo Studio, for all of your promotional projects, amateur photos reduces your image and also the chances of you being recognized.

15) Professional makeup Artist (if you did it yourself, a second opinion is always helpful).

16) Be up to date with trends, Fashion, Slang, Music, Cultural diversities( always try to speak a second language; Spanish, French, Latin, Portuguese, German)

17) Be different be original, target a specific market in your area of modeling (if you don’t look the part, don’t play the part).

18) Try to get your face out there; Flyers, T-Shirts, Internet, Compilation Cards, business cards, Calendars, Television, Magazine, Posters etc.

19) Balance your personal and professional life, live a little!

It’s a war for Identity in this market, everywhere you go there is always something bigger and better, so how do you stay on top? Be different, be original in your image and presentation, branding is key so it’s always good to create a logo or icon that identifies your stage name (Consult a professional graphic artist in your area), that is remain fixed in the minds of your audience. Invest a lot of time in you as a model, be as professional as you can in other words; handle your business.

As the Entertainment, Music, Fashion and Film Industry Merges, always be prepared for something new and exciting, do not be de-motivated by disappointments, there is always a bigger and better project out there. Somewhere your face will be needed so get ready and be alert at all times; cell phone, two ways, pocket book, PDA, Laptop (optional) etc. Don’t be afraid of technology, use it, and abuse it if you have to, in order to make your point. Remember you are a 21^st Century Model, “THE PAST IS DEAD SO LOOK AHEAD”.

Life Part II

Ok, so I have defined life from in part I, now I have a real question; “What is our purpose in life?” Life is a mystery, life is precious, and life is expendable. When one looks at the purpose of life, one should look at it in a broad sense and then slowly narrow it down to a more personal perspective. On a broader sense the purpose of general life is to maintain the universe as we know it, the cosmic energy forces that are around us. The purpose of life from a scientific perspective is: The balance of an eco system, a cycle that goes through stages, a cycle and a phenomenon that most coin as nature.

Nature is the system that binds life, especially here on earth. When narrowing it down life can be branched into smaller segments:

1) Micro Life

2) Plant Life

3) Animal Life

4) Human Life

Micro Life must exist; these are elements as tiny as a single atom. They bind together to form molecules and in turn serve a specific function. They are needed for the consummation of larger life forms such as Plant Life. As weird as it may seem without Micro Life, Plant Life would not exist, and without Plant Life, Other Life would not exist.

Plant Life is essential to the nurturing of mother earth; it is via plant life that oxygen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen) is produced. Plant Life co-exists with Animal and Human life and serves as the raw material for all consummation. Plant life is essential for filtering the air by providing Water to the land masses, and absorbing it for growth and development.

Animal Life is highly important to Nature. Animals are considered “A multicellular organism that is usually mobile, whose cells are not encased in a rigid cell wall (distinguishing it from plants and fungi) and which derives energy solely from the consumption of other organisms (distinguishing it from plants).

A cat is an animal, not a plant.”

Animals sole purpose of survival is the consummation of other animals or plants, once again this is apart of nature’s system. Therefore without Plants animals would not exist. Therefore the purpose of plants is to be consumed by animals and cleanse the earth. Note plants were here first, and then came Animals.

Human Life is very complex. I am human therefore I know exactly what I mean. We begin with History: Humans were created to worship God (a religious perspective); their purpose was to worship God in the Flesh and Spirit. They were designed to cultivate and populate the earth. From a scientific perspective Humans evolved from Animals, which actually came from Micro Life. These are philosophies of the late Charles Darwin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_darwin), with his controversial theory called Evolution. Note Evolution deals with how we got here not necessarily why we got here. The religious perspective is the opposite I guess.

Seeing our existence as Humans and it is humans that will be reading this article (I should think so, unless there is an intergalactic high frequency scanner that channels into the internet for observation of human intelligence by higher life forms for the purpose of cultural infiltration, ha ha), it is essential that we break this topic into categories.

1) Our Spiritual Purpose

2) Our Physical Purpose

3) Our Cultural and Social Purpose

Humans have the instinct to worship a higher being, it is the need to be comforted and guided and most of all connect spiritually with other humans. Our spiritual purpose is really to acknowledge the existence of a higher being and follow that being’s philosophies or teachings; it is by these teachings that govern how humans should live until they die.

It is because of our spiritual sense, that humans have coined Religion, which really is a set of protocols that reflects the philosophies of that higher being. There are many religions and many religious organizations, mostly culturally connected.

Our physical purpose is to build, develop and create a society. It is within this Society that humans must survive, there is a role for every human within a particular society, some considered normal, others considered deviant. It is via the building of a Society we are given a Cultural and a Social Purpose.

Culture is a set of norms that Humans of a particular sex, race or geographic location do what is considered normal within a society. Culture binds humans into groups, groups of people that have their own means of self expression. It is via Culture that we socialize with other Humans either of similar culture or of other cultures. Humans also form Cultures within a culture known as sub-cultures.

It is within these cultures that we connect socially to other human beings via means of communication; words, sounds, dance, music, visual expression etc.

In every culture and society there exist positive and negative factions, one opposes the other, yet both must co-exist e.g. good and Bad, Negative and Positive.

The purpose of my life is to be observant of my surroundings, and to analyze Human expression, to be in tune with technology for the purpose of being more efficient, for the ability to express myself artistically, for the purpose of helping others to develop their lives, for the economic advancement of my society, I guess you get the picture.

I am imperfect and I thrive for perfection, I live and I learn, I also share what I learn and in turn I learn even more. Thank you for reading.

May 1st reboot

I have not posted for a while, i guess i am still trying to get over "A certain kind of woman Part III", ha ha seriously i have gotten over it. I am faced with new challenges; the true test of any designer, the redesign of JWM Studios. I am a participant of an elite community of designers that will reboot their websites on may 1st 2006, i was supposed to participate last year but school held me back, i just never had the time. Now that i am in my final semester i am still faced with the challenge of time but am very determined to finish this job.

I hope to inspire my visitors with this design which will be an expression of my motto: "Beauty is my Passion, Pain is my Platform". The variables all around me are hostile, i live in a world of hostility, competition, greed, lust and policy. I need to break free from the mental protocols that hold me back and venture into a new era, my self expression will breathe that new era into existence.

My new design will be a reflection of my emotions, my achievements and my disapointments. I have yet to prove myself to the masses, i have yet to gain my respect and am still paying my dues.

I am a slave of my own mind, and i can only be freed by my own self, i am mentally tortured and broken, i have no place to go but ahead. Thank you for reading.

Beauty is my Passion, Pain is my Platform

My personal motto "Beauty is my Passion, Pain is my Platform" is the result of my experiences. Everyday is a step closer to our final destination; I personally don't know where that is but am sure it’s waiting for us to find out. As I journey through life I am blessed and also cursed with valuable lessons; one lesson that I may have learned and this is a quote from a once great philosopher: "Desire is the source to all suffering" Quoted by Buddha.

I desire what is considered beautiful (“beauty is the eye of the beholder”) because I want to become apart of it, I try to simulate it through my art and expression but at a cost. The price is pain; this is the result of suffering from a physical or emotional state, in my case it’s mostly emotional. Therefore the more pain that I feel is the more that I find myself closer to what I desire.

For example Mr. X needs to get a object A, but to get object A Mr. X needs object B. Object B is going to act as the medium of exchange for acquiring Object A, the problem is that Mr. X must first acquire object B, it is going to cost Mr. X some type of pain to get object B if he does not already have it. Opportunity cost chips in, also sacrifice etc. This is used to acquire object B and then Mr. X can now meet his full desire which is object A. Sounds complicated but its a simple model of all that we humans do on a daily basis.

Every human is passionate about something, that attraction to beauty is lead by desire but the cost for acquiring that beauty is pain.

I desire to be a better designer than I currently am, I try to evaluate the current trends and standards of what I consider good design, but the process of improving my design is very painful, as I have to learn how to manipulate the technology, follow the rules/protocols given and adapt to the communities for self expression. The acceptance of the community would be the reward of my efforts for self improvement. My ignorance is a contribution to my pain, it’s all simple only if I knew how, but it’s very complicated to acquire this simplicity.

I hope this article helped to stimulate any perceptions as to the mental compositions of JWM.

Its another day, and am grateful for it. Time has passed and our endless struggle for survival continues. I took some time to reflect on Nature and its Beauty and Serinity, because at the end of the day Nature is the basic raw material from all that we consume. My first picture is one taken christmas day at around 7:30 AM, i was in montegobay Jamaica at a luxurious penthouse when i caught this beauty sticking out of a rock:

It was love at first sight, i quickly aimed and fired away using a fugifilm fine pix s7000. The Image came out really sharp with magnificent colours.
I was on the hunt again with my search for beauty, this time i came across a flowers pot, there she was with her orange glory staring at me:Yup, a sight for sore eyes. Ok you think thats it, my adventure had just begon, i went upstairs and shot a magnificent view over looking the ocean:

This is a peace of Jamaica in all its glory. It was a really quiet christmas day, went into the town had a long walk (one of my regular hobbies). I went to sleep and arose the next day, i noticed that it had been raining heavily all night, so i peeked through the window to see further details. A saw to my amazment a plant with water drops dripping from it. I quickly captured this kodak moment:

Breakfast was ready and i was feeling very hungry, i ran upstairs to my delight i was greeted with my favourite dish; Ackee and Saltfish:
Mmmm... can you taste it? It was all good! I ate my fill and was off on another adventure. There are many more photos but these really emotionally captivated me. Ever since i was a boy i always wanted to share my emotions in a visual form, thanks to a blog and a good digital camera my dream has come through.

Life as a Photographer

Nature, how beautiful it is. I took this in 2003 on one very early morning at about 7:30 AM. I was heading down to the beach( one of my usual routines), and i saw that tiny flower, it just reminded me of something, yeah something that i have seen before, ok i'll spill the beans it looks like a vagina, ha ha.

Anyway i am a nature lover and i really enjoy taking beautiful pictures of things, people, places etc. Here is a snapshot of what i took on the beachside:

It was a hot sunday afternoon and i was feeling adventureous, so i made headway down the beach, a place called rio nuevo st. mary. At the time i was feeling a bit broken hearted as i was thinking of someone from my past, heck i even wrote a song on that day, maybe i will post it in another article. I time the shores gushing against the rocks and i think i got the perfect shot.

Here is another shot, this time i looked up at the cliff above me and i took one of the clouds above, it was facinating and also scary at the time, this shot really put me in a mood that only could be explained through raw emotions.

Along with nature, i also love to take pictures of beautiful women in that setting, take a hold of Sasha Sarago, an Aboriginal model that came to jamaica on sept. 2002

This Photo gave me alot of accolades amongst my peers. It was one of those Kodak moments, i was using an olympus 650 dl and i placed in on multiple frames and told her to lift her head out of the water and viola! Lifestyle Magazine hook me up, i can do this type of stuff for you.

Yeah man, Ocho Rios Jamaica is my base and i find alot of nature, people and places to snap.

So there you have it, not only am i a Webmaster but am also a Photographer.

Life as a Webmaster

My life as a webmaster has taught me so much about the world and the direction that it is taking. On one end we have an economic boom of technology and on the other there is this economic boom of kayos.

Ok back to being a webmaster, that’s my job and I love it. One thing that interests me is the direction that 3d and motion graphics is taking, I have managed to for the first time smell the delights of mainstream at my doorstep, the gap between JWM and TV is slowly closing in, and I can step into a new dimension, untapped and yet very competitive.

So many things to learn, just getting handy with CSS. Yup cascading style sheets is a really nice layout language (if you really want to save code). PHP and MySQL are my sweethearts and I am married to those two. Seeing that my platform is Unix/Linux I have to support my PHP. ASP is cool, but that’s for the windows platform. I would love to get my feet wet on that platform some day.

Swift 3d is a bad boy; I am still a baby and am crawling in this program. I am relieved that I am not limited to a two dimensional space. I can rotate things, add lighting, and mold and shape just about any thing. Web and Graphics design is currently being enhanced with 3d so it’s good to get into the game early before it becomes standard and the mad rush begins. Maxon Cinema 4d, Maya, 3d Studio Max and ZBrush for now are a dream. Accolades go out to those who know these programs (I really envy you).

Flash, Dream weaver and Fireworks. These are the three Kings right here. Work cannot be done without these guys. Check out the new Studio 8, would love to get it but am still in MX 2004. Flash 8 video is going to revolutionize the way video is being played on the web, and it has a neat little encoder that converts any video format to FLV, no more using QuickTime to do the job.

Adobe Premiere and After Effects, just tinkering around and like what I see, the prospects are very high for an average Joe like myself when it comes to using these programs. The only problem that I have with them is the darn rendering, sorry for you if you don’t have a sold Athlon 64 or p4. It wouldn’t make sense that you even try to run them. Combustion 4 rocks! Never used it but I have seen what it can do and that holds the key to getting good 3d and video work done all in one place.

Inspiration 6, notepad, cute ftp, ws_ftp, irfran view, Photoshop, Corel Draw and others are my darlings, they keep the family together, and they just live so perfectly like ebony and ivory.

Those darn projects when will they get done? Also when will I improve and perfect my design? It’s a long and frustrating wait. I have yet to Launch JWMStudios.com v5; it’s just in the fragments of my mind at the moment. Sometimes it comes out on paper then it goes into the trash can. My question is “What can I create that has not already been created?” and “How can I be original?” JWM would love to leave a watermark too.

Aww well that’s just the life of a webmaster, I guess regardless of ones career there is always a price to pay in order to gain respect or to move up the ranks. College is stress! My daily life is stress! Oh but my girl keeps me balanced hee hee, yes I am not a super geek I can get laid! Ok it’s good to have a sense of humour. In the end I can say life as a webmaster is fun, there are new programs and new technology constantly emerging, but it can become a drag when I log on to CNN.com everyday and see all that kayos going on in the world, it makes me feel like the end is coming you know. It scares the hell out of me.

And also my local media with its sad depressing stories. It’s like the whole world is depressed or is it just me? At one end there is a certain class of people with a type of lifestyle that you want to fit into, and on the other end is a type of people that are ignorant and not aware of present reality. I am caught in the middle yet I don’t envy neither groups, they both have their pros and cons.

“These are some serious times, all I can see around us is violence and crime…”, quoted by the new Reggae sensation called Gyptian. The times in

Jamaica

are really serious, it has really gone to a deploring state, and I have reached a point where I am personally disgusted with the media and those politicians (Both Parties). The media has exploited the innocence and the blood of our people by showcasing their hypocrisy, preying on their audience by injecting fear and negative portraits of Jamaica. They embrace telecommunications and show people having fun communicating but yet they enjoy seeing baby mothers cry for their slain young.

The politicians have created a garrison melting pot which they cannot control. Inner city violence has escalated to a state of national emergency. Weapons are now more valued than human resources, Area Dons spend more on their vehicles than on their communities. The Drug trade is now deeply tied into politics, extortion is everywhere.

Where is God, when you need him? There is at least one church found in every community of this island but no justice for the poor has been met. No one cares for the insane on the streets, or the young child walking bear footed in the rain.

Yet they (politicians) boast on their stock portfolios.

What is the use? Why complain everyday about the same situation that has been plaguing our people for centuries. I cannot recall the black race not going through some state of hardship. Yet Nazi’s protest and say they want us to go back home, when they were the ones that brought us to the western world.

What do they (The Oppressors) want from us? They may hit us with inflation and corruption but they will not have our souls. Only God knows the truth and why we are all oppressed and only God will save us all.

In the mean time, my reality exists within my environment and this article is a reflection of my environment, it affects me to see such a powerful set of people being exploited and hurt one another.

My Evolution

My evolution starts inside of me. In a world that seems to have no end or a beginning, in a time and space as void as infinity. JWM rise; JWM show yourself in all your glory, be all that you can be. My evolution starts inside of me.

My life is pain; my heart is filled with emotions which is as deep as the abyss. What a world we are living in, why do people have to die? Where is love? What is love?

What is the purpose of love when there is no purpose to love, or even someone to love? What is the sense of beauty when in cannot be showcased? What is the purpose of a lifestyle when there are no achievements? What is the purpose of Power when it is ruled by greed?

My Evolution starts now, I am human, I am apart of this time space continuum until the day I die, you all will remember me as JWM, forever, somewhere on this www, there will be 0s and 1s with a trace of my work.

I bleed for my work, I try to perfect my bad design, and I try to reach to that point of no return when I can say I am perfect! But for now it’s My Evolution.

Trapped in Poverty

“Poverty is the state of being without the necessities of daily living, often associated with need, hardship and lack of resources across a wide range of circumstances.” more at Wiki.

To be trapped in poverty is not a beautiful thing, to live in an economy with limited resources and a fight for daily survival is also not easy.

One would think that education is an escape route from poverty but it is not, there is no escape once you are knee deep. Everyone in this world has needs, some needs are different and varies on the demographics or achievements of the individual. When certain needs are not met, one is said to be deprived, deprivation causes frustration and that in turn leads to other things (violence, social division, suicide etc.).

Here are a few causes for this trap:

Social Division

Social Division is one of the causes of this trap known as poverty, especially when you live in a society that is multi-cultured and has a wide variety of ethnic groups. It also is a result in peoples’ taste for sexuality or other social activities that are deviant within a society. This division leads to an un-united society and resulting in a spawn of many sub-cultures that can reduce the overall sharing of resources within that society.

Economy

Every society has to pay for its consummation. Every society has to account for its level of production and how it interacts with other societies. Economy determines the demand and supply of goods and services that exist within that society, this push and pull system affects the exportation and importation of goods or services, but the master whip of them all is PRICE. The price for a commodity determines its supply and demand. The price to pay for a commodity is also dependent on currency. Another variable to consider is income, the less one earns the, less one can really consume. But lack of income is only a stigma that reflects the society.

Violence

Violent behaviour is a result of culture, or frustration of the society that one exists in. It is easier to destroy than to build, it is also easier to kill than to bring to life. Violence results in crime, it is also a subset of WAR, war in turn is a struggle between opposing forces over various issues (resources, policies etc). One can be born into violence, which therefore makes one adapt to it (gangs), hence forth culture plays a major part in violence. To be born in a community that is war torn, will only make you see that your reality, and any other reality that may be civil is only a fragment of one’s imagination.

Morals and Ethics

What is right from wrong, Morals are what everyone in society sees as right or wrong, Ethics determine what the individual sees what’s right or wrong. These values are installed at early stages in our lives therefore they are influenced by other social elements such as; family; peer groups; religious institutions; educational institutions etc. When these social elements fail, this leads to a moral breakdown within the society leading to all the other negative subsets of poverty.

Communication Barriers

Communication is essential in the development of a society. There are two main barriers; language and education. This world has many social groups that speak many languages, therefore contributing to social division and misunderstanding. Education, deals with the ability to be literate and also being aware of current trends and changes within a society. Lack of education can result in a big communication barrier therefore making one illiterate to these changes.

There are other variables that result in this trap. This article is a reflection of the truth, as poverty is a pandemic that is eating away at the lives of human beings. Man has to balance their desires for wealth, politicians need to change their policies, and dominant societies need to have lenience on lesser dominant societies. In other words “THE GREED MUST END!” The lust for a higher lifestyle and to socially compete with others is only stigmas that breed poverty. Before you know it, whether your are rich, poor, middle or working class, poverty comes knocking at your door in some form or shape. It is our responsibility as humans to be responsible for our communities and assist to break free from this trap, which has plagued man ever since the birth of civilization.

Who is a model?

“A model is a person who acts as a human prop for purposes of art, fashion, advertising, pornography, etc.”

In a world where mass media controls the populace, models have stood the test of time, some glorified others ignored. The 21^st century has dawned a new era for models, an era of the internet.

The models that I am talking about are female Ethnic (Black, Latino, Asian, Mixed) models. Where is their place in the industry? And how are they making progress?

Ethnic models have exploded in mass media advertising over the past 10 years, from music videos, to the catwalks; ethnic models are now earning their share of the wealth in the industry. Popular culture has literally shaped the mindset of our present generation with the proliferation of Holly Wood box office movies, Hip Hop, R & B, Reggae and Urban fashion; leading to this burst of mass media madness. The Civil rights movements have lead to more opportunity for ethnic people and have increased their entrepreneurial capabilities. There are richer ethnic producers and also a richer ethnic populace; ethnic people are now a target for large corporations that were once fixed on a Eurocentric marketing model.

These corporations have to please and entice their audience to consume its products for increased profits; their marketing departments are constantly on the edge in finding new ways of appealing to the populace. Advertisement and modelling agencies usually come into play. These Organizations recruit hundreds of thousands of talented individuals, creating a melting pot of talent in mostly urban communities.

The Ethnic Internet Model Dream is a story that has neither beginning nor any end. It tells the tales of thousands of young beautiful women vying for an opportunity of economic redemption and identity. They all want to be rich and famous, living a lifestyle that is somewhat fairytale. But when there is no opportunity for your look, there are limited amount of recruiters, what are they to do? Take the bull by the horn and venture into the world of internet modeling.

The Internet has over 700,000 people globally connected. It is the largest advertising medium next to cable television. A single website can command an audience, attract recruiters and build a fan base.

The most popular type of Internet Modeling is pornography, it pays the highest and it commands the highest sales for the Internet. This type of production has attracted a lot of ethnic models in hot pursuit of the “Ethnic Internet Model Dream”.

Another type of Modeling is the proliferation of Glamour photography; “Glamour photography is the photographing of a model (nowadays usually female, often nude or semi-nude), in a way that is intended to be erotic.” It is used as a counter alternative to pornography (which usually proliferate the genitals) and provides more aesthetics in terms of lighting, fashion, and overall physical presentation. There are more ethnic models taking this route and have formed their own websites, some managed by a production company and others self maintained. Their success is determined off their physical assets or their ability to tease their audience. A popular asset for most ethnic models into glamour photography is the so called “Booty”, which men glorify on a daily basis, the so called “Tits” comes second, and other Fetishes such as Panties, Toes, Hair, etc are in third place.

There are other types of internet productions such as Illustration and body portraits which also command a wide audience.

These Ethic models usually gain exposure to these productions via recruitment websites, these websites usually host models’ photos and profile and usually attracts the potential producer to the model (some use it as alternate dating). One of the most popular ethnic model recruitment sites on the Internet is: http://www.blackcuties.com here you will find thousands of professionals and non-professionals vying to become the next big urban star.

There are other websites that do recruitment for the purpose of their own production and models usually get exposed via being promoted commercially (subscription or video sales). These models usually grow in popularity (depending on the influence of the production company) and are usually given opportunity by traditional corporate entities such as Magazines, Modelling or Advertisement agencies.

For some the “Ethnic Internet Model Dream” is an impossible task, for others it’s a path of hope that leaves an open door of many possibilities.

The World Wide Web, invented by University Scholar Tim Burners Lee, has grown quite significantly in the past ten years; from the days of Telnet and gofer now to an era where pictures, sounds and animations rule the frontiers. Another part of the progression of the internet has to do with the internet browsers and their innovations, I also appreciate the plug-ins that integrate with these browsers and allow for various graphics enhancements. Macromedia Flash is a plug-in that has revolutionized the world of animation and entertainment on the web, people are no longer limited to static pages and can now interact and edutain themselves all at the same time. There are also no browser conflicts as it is platform independent. I also give accolades to Windows Media Player and QuickTime for their portability and functions in playing back video on the web.

We cannot forget the good old search engines, gone are the days when there was only yahoo and altavista.com, there are new boys in town and I mean they are bad! Google is the techies’ sweetheart and also webcrawler.com which I use to search for mainly media files.

Cellular Phones, they used to be big and very expensive and now every where you go there is one. With various brands ranging from Nokia, Samsung and Sony these pesky little devices are not your average telephones, they now come equip with built in cameras and mp3 players, you can send text messages (SMS), chat and organize all in one place. They come in various sizes and shapes and also add an appeal to your fashion.

Personal Computers, with the advent of increased processing power and the development of Operating systems, Personal Computers have not only become more affordable but more easy to use. They come in the form of Laptops (Portables) or Desktops. They are the lifeline of any small business or educational/entertainment venture. With the ability to network with other computers; send and receive email, share data, shop online, or the ability to run thousands of applications ranging from all various industries, personal computers have really made a progressive mark in the past ten (10) years.

It’s the Brainchild of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs), ipods have the ability to store thousands of digital music without the need to add/remove and media (CD’s, cassette etc). Ipods are not only cool, but they are easy to use and can connect to the internet, you can subscribe to I-Tunes online music store and download your favourite artists’ singles or albums.

Last but not least digital cameras, this device have not only gotten smaller but also increased in quality. Digital cameras gives anyone the ability to record an emotional moment and share it with there friend and family using the World Wide Web. Not only can you share these digital emotions, they can be printed at high quality with any Inkjet Printer. So good bye film and hello smart cards (the media used to store digital images from digital cameras).

So there you have it, in a world that is vast and unknown what is known are the technological changes all around us and those are just a few. My personal take on Technology is; don’t be afraid of it, it’s a tool just like a knife or a pencil; use it to improve your lifestyle.

Captain’s log Star date, September 06, 2005, this is my blog, that’s right a personal expression of me Hugo Johnson otherwise known as JWM. I really love girls because my hormones call out to them. It’s hard to explain it when you are a guy but when you are around a girl it’s like your heart races faster and all you can think about is that word, ok SEX. Oops did I say something bad? I do not always see girls as just sex objects; I see them as individuals with their dreams and aspirations, I respect that in a woman, when she knows what she wants and pursues her dreams no matter what.

I love the way they talk, their voices relaxes the nerves, too much testosterones aren’t good for you, so when you hear them talk it makes you want to connect to them in more ways than one.

I like the way they walk, those curvaceous hips and that apple shaped ass, especially the sistas! That’s right home girl I’m talking to you, with your fine ass self. Those cup cakes you call titties are suck able, lovable and touchable (if there is such a word). I love the way they dress, their little hipsters or short skirts, tiny shorts or even look corporate in that exec suit, go on girl you look good. Your fashion brings out the best of you, it makes you confident and it also makes you strong.

I love girls because every since I was born I know I had to do something where I can interact with them on a daily basis. I went into the modeling business because I love them, not only for who they are, but for what they represent: The givers of life.

Girls have their ways, and brothers if you think you can figure them out, you are wasting your time. You will end up defeated and hurt, let them try to figure you out, also be the mystery man. I personally have tried to figure girls out, yup. I failed, I still am trying to figure out what they want. But hey “I love girls”.

The World

The world is a huge place, when you think about it; the world can be defined from many angles all through a sociological microscope. My view of the world is: It’s a huge matrix of mixed and unknown variables. The more we think we know is the more we actually don’t know. Therefore I define my world; my world is very unusual yet very simple. To break it down my world is in chaos, a strict social order that is stratified by a type of class struggle, an economic melting pot that has driven most of my people to partial insanity.

I exist within a class struggle where I am neither lower, middle nor upper-class; I have no set identity within my world, to some I am a part of a statistic while to others I do not exist. But seriously where is this article going right? What is the world and who are the entities that are in it?

The world is made up of billions of entities and other elements that form our universe, most of the universe is unknown, but a lot is known of earth, therefore I consider the world to be earth and my world to be my country, the reason being, every facet of my life is governed by the policies of my country. Then again my country does not determine how I eat or sleep, but my culture does.

Culture defined: “The complete way of life of a people; the shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterize a group; their customs, art, literature, religion, philosophy, etc.; the pattern of learned and shared behavior among the members of a group”.

So within my country my culture dictates the function of my world. I am assuming the same for everyone that exists within their world. I leave this article free to view it from any angle that you like….The end.

Life

Life as we know it, Is a phenomenon that cannot be explained but can only be acknowledged. There are many views on life, whether you take the scientific or religious route, both has their controversies. My view is a little bit of both, though I do not want to go into any big debate that would allow me to draw for arguments that I just cannot find at this moment.

So I will just break it down to simple opinions.

First Opinion

There is a creator; he or she (balancing the genders) made the heavens and earth. Cultures have come and gone as to the identity of this/these creators. These cultures have formed powerful religions which have divided the populace into various, class and ethnic groups. Each group feels strongly of their faith as it has had more influence in their lives than other groups. Which one is true? Ask the truth not me.

Second Opinion

Where there is life, there is death. Death has always been apart of nature, it seems from the conception of life; an entity has to die for another entity to survive. It is with this a life cycle is spawned. There are entities that need other entities in order to survive, take the Lion in Africa, which feeds on it prey, mostly smaller weaker animals, yet those smaller weaker animals fed on some plant life in order to survive. Therefore survival of an entity results in the destruction of another.

Third opinion

Life is not always fare. Not much arguments here but, I think life is not fare. Where there is human life, there are imperfections in the humans’ biological composition. These are called genes. Genes decide who you are and what you become (another controversy); it maps the whole architecture of that entity. The downside to these genes is that these mapping consists of so much variety that they result in imperfect genes, which result in deceases, physical or mental deformations.

Fourth Opinion

Politicians are next to God. This one is also controversial, but here goes. Each culture has its own geographic compositions (countries). Each country in considered civilized, and is apart of a large body called a society; this society is governed by a group of individuals called a government. This government can be either democratic (more than one opposing sides) or communist (one dictator). Each member of the government is called a politician. Each politician is given a role, whether to manage the resources of the country or to manage the society. Therefore these individuals are acting as God, to govern man and to ensure that they follow the laws of the land.

I will not say whether they are good or bad, ask a politician not me.

Fifth Opinion

We cannot exist, by our selves. We are apart of a society, therefore we must learn to adjust to the society in order to function. Function meaning to survive, survival is determined on our equity base or support from other members of the society. Each member of the society must be competent and willing to perform specific duties that maintain the societies’ composition. No one entity can provide all functions of a society.

I exist as an entity in this life. Time and space has landed me into the 21^st century an age of communication, and technological innovation. These opinions will help to shape other articles that I will post regarding the world, life and technology. Thank you for reading.
